Marin Vegetarian Education Group - A non-profit organization offering Information, Resources, Motivation and Support for Plant-based eating. A project of the Veg News Network. (Based in Marin County, California)

San Francisco Vegetarian Society - A non-profit organization that has been working in the Bay Area for over 30 years promoting a vegetarian diet as a healthful and humane way of life.

EarthSave International - "EarthSave is a non-profit organization that educates, inspires and empowers people to shift toward a plant-based diet and to take compassionate action for all life on earth."

The Vegetarian Resource Group - "The VRG is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public on vegetarianism and the interrelated issues of health, nutrition, ecology, ethics, and world hunger." School Nutrition Education

CHOICE (Consumers for Healthy Options in Children's Education) - A Program for healthy school lunches. Provides lesson plans for all age groups and notes manuals, web sites, organizations, and other resources that can assist you in improving nutrition education and meals in your school.

The Healthy School Lunch Campaign is dedicated to improving the health value of the food served to children in public and private schools. The campaign aims to educate lawmakers, government and school officials, teachers, school food service workers, and parents about the importance of building nutrition information and food offerings based on current scientific evidence to best promote children's current and long-term health. The campaign is sponsored by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventive medicine and ethics in medical research. The campaign's message: Foods served in schools should promote the health of all children.

The Food Studies Institute promotes the long-term health and education of elementary school children through curriculum development, multi-media publishing, teacher training, and consulting on the implementation of a unique curriculum integrating academic disciplines with experiential learning about food, nutrition, culture and the arts. As a non-profit, tax exempt, corporation, we also assist schools to incorporate low-fat, high fiber, nutritious entrees into school meals and to involve parents and guardians in their children's food education.
